I just went a Mae concert on 11.1.09 at Skully’s Bar & Grill in Columbus, OH, and as usual, I kept record of their set list. It was an overall good concert, and the small venue made for a pretty cool experience. The band members were practically standing next to me in the front row (at one point in time, the lead singer of Mae was standing like 3 people down from me listening to one of the openers… pretty awesome).

A friend of mine recently “rekindled” my interest for MuteMath by raving about their latest album Armistice. With a local MuteMath concert on the horizon, I picked up the latest album on amazon for like $8 and gave ‘er a listen. After my infatuation stage of Armistice passed, it stood as a solid album, yet it still remained off my top 10. I have had MuteMath’s self-titled album for some time, but it had long since fallen from the forefront of my frequently played tuneage. I saw Mat Kearney in concert last night (September 21, 2009) at Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH. Diane Birch opened for him and was actually pretty good. If you’re interested, her album, Bible Belt, is only $5 right now over at Amazon (mp3). She’s up-and-coming and has been deemed the new Norah Jones… I’ll let you decide for yourself. I’m a fan.

This past weekend (5/16/09), Dashboard Confessional and Augustana (and another band I can’t recall Steeltrain) put on a free concert for all Ohio State students at the LC Pavilion in Columbus. I saw this exact same duo last year at Newport, and once again, they did not disappoint. This wasn’t the best concert I’ve ever seen (Jack Johnson takes the cake on that one – see this set list), but it was pretty awesome nonetheless.
I like to keep track of the set lists of all the concerts I go to, so I can make playlists to relive the musical ecstasy once the concert has gone the way of yesterday. This is a similar post as the Jack Johnson one I made about a month ago. I went to John Mayer’s concert last night at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, and I kept track of the songs he played in the order he performed them.
