Free License for Flow, the Mac FTP Client!
By greg | May 1, 2010
I received a license to the new Mac FTP client called Flow in the latest MacHeist nanoBundle, and I don’t want it. I currently use Transmit 4, and I have no reason to port all of my favorites and such over. Flow is a pretty slick looking program with typical FTP functionality. If you want more information, head on over to their website (http://extendmac.com/flow/). Ironically the site is down at the moment… but I’m pretty sure the company is reliable, though.
So… because I have no need for it, I’m offering one free license for Flow, the Mac FTP client to the first person who comments below. Yes, as my friend Sam mentioned to me, I know that nobody likes flow. However… everyone loves Flow. Never mind… just comment if you want the program license.

Apple Conference – iPhone 4 OS – April 8, 2010
By greg | April 8, 2010
This is a quick and dirty post regarding the Apple conference to be held tomorrow (iPhone 4 OS to be announced – see here). This actually originated as a Facebook note comment.
Let me preface by saying I’ve been a little out of the loop in regard to latest and greatest iPhone 4 OS rumors and related… (consider me discredited before I even venture past my 2nd paragraph). I’ve been busy with other things (such as living my life). Leave me alone. Cross me off the official MacHead list if you’d like. Do it. I’ll wait. Read the rest of this entry »

iPad – My Continued Thoughts
By greg | March 24, 2010
So the iPad-revealing conference has come and gone, and the actual product release awaits us in the near future (April 3). In my last post I conjectured what I thought might await us and some of the disappointments that might come with it. While I think I was spot on in some respects (more credit to sources I read than my actual prediction prowess), I think there’s more to this product than I thought. Will I buy the first generation? Probably not. I can’t convince myself to spend the $500+ for the current features with my income. In the future, however, I could see adding an iPad to my tech collection. Here are a few thoughts… Read the rest of this entry »

iSlate, iTablet, iPad? iSuspect a Letdown (for me)
By greg | January 26, 2010
Seeing as this a Mac blog, this is my compulsory post regarding the conjectured Apple Tablet that seems will be undoubtedly revealed to the world tomorrow at the 1 P.M. (EST) Apple Event. Do you want the facts? So do the rest of us. Rumors of this device have been flying around for literally over a year, and the anticipation looks to be peaking the night before the event. Kindle-killer, 3G, Verizon, large iPod, “most innovative device ever”, and “cure for AIDS/cancer” are some of the descriptive words/phrases – to name a few – that have been floating around. As a semi-Apple fanboy, I’m definitely excited, but I suspect disappointment awaits me. Let me be skeptical, alright? I win either way.

Active Corners Tip – Get that Windows User off your back
By greg | December 10, 2009
Here’s the scenario. You have a Windows friend… we’ll call him Joban. He keeps up with the latest viral vids and hottest StumbleUpon sites because that’s what cool people do. So, Joban shows up at your man cave, and the two of you start tossin’ tech talk back and forth. Before you can say “Do our pineapples match?” Joban has snatched your MacBook out of your lap and is about to show you the latest & greatest site he found on Stumble (that probably consists of an app that creates a sweet kaleidoscope – yeah… spelled that right on my first try
.)

Before he can get to the site, Joban does what 99.9% of Windows users do when they use a Mac. His overzealous track-pad controlling finger zips the mouse to one of your hot/active corners causing Expose to show the desktop. After all of the Finder windows zip off the screen, Joban gets angry, says a word/words that your mom would not approve of, and then proceeds to tell you that Macs are stupid and confusing.
