MacHeist is back! (Get DaisyDisk for free!)
By greg | October 31, 2009
So all of you Mac fan boys and girls are made aware, it looks as though another MacHeist is starting in about 6 days. Woohoo! If you head on over to www.MacHeist.com right now, you can get DaisyDisk – $20 value – for free by entering in the magic coordinates *cough* (151.7,174.4) *cough – you didn’t hear it from me – and tweeting the canned message that MacHeist requires.
DaisyDisk is a slick little app that scans your hard drive and shows you how your disk space is being used in a aesthetically pleasing format. It’s a good way to determine what files are takin’ up that precious hard drive space. It’s not the fastest scanner ever, but it looks pretty awesome once it finishes. Would I ever pay $20 for an app like this? Hm… probably not (no offense, Mr./Ms. DaisyDisk developer). I’m still glad to have this in my repertoire of Mac Utilities, though
For those of you who are new to MacHeist, it’s a website that gives away free Mac applications/software in return for participation in their puzzle/heist games. The software is actually quite useful most of the times, and it’s free… (so shame on you for thinking about complaining!). At the end of the Heist, MacHeist will offer a bundle of applications for around $50. In all honesty it’s usually a steal.
I recommend getting on board now, so you don’t miss out on the software deals. Once the time passes, you’re out of luck. You’ll be so… so… so… sorry. If you’re looking for an easy way to keep track of the countdown, check out imfrogmedia’s free widget here -> http://macheist.imfrogmedia.com.
Happy Halloween from Greg-Loesch.com!
