David Pogue’s Missing Manual
By greg | February 11, 2008
This isn’t a tip, but I’m more or less just letting you all know that I’m still here and haven’t forgotten about this section of my site. I’ve been making notes of things that I’d like to share with everyone, and it’s just a matter of finding the time to do it. My schedule’s been pretty full, and on top of that, making screen casts isn’t exactly something that’s terribly comfortable to do while people are walking in and out of your dorm room. Perhaps I’m just too self-conscious…ÂÂ

I purchased David Pogue’s new book The Missing Manual – Mac OS X: Leopard Edition tonight, and though I’ve only read the first couple pages, I’m already learning some simple yet really useful functions. For those of you who are interested in learning about Leopard, I’d definitely recommend this book. From a couple of online reviews I’ve read, no Leopard manual compares. David Pogue is… a gifted man (Matt, thanks for introducing me to his stuff), and all the reviews on Amazon are simply raving about him. Shockingly, Apple stores aren’t carrying his book. They carry his iMovie manual and some other stuff but not the Leopard one. They have 2 other Leopard books by different others, but from what I’ve read, Pogue’s the only way to go. Don’t waste your money on the others.Keep checking back often as I’ll be posting some of the tips that I glean from his book and other experiences.
